Introduction

Devent is committed to ensuring your trust in how we handle your personal data. We are responsible for ensuring that the information we have about you is used in compliance with privacy legislation. In this privacy policy, we provide information on how we use and protect your personal data and what rights you have. Personal data refers to all information that can be linked to you as an individual.

1. What Personal Data Do We Have About You

Information provided by you:

When you create a user profile with us, the following information is stored: name, address, phone number, club affiliation, date of birth, and email address. This is done either through a third-party service you use to log in (e.g., Vipps, Facebook, Google, etc.) providing us with the information, or you manually input some of the information. Additionally, you can enter details about your dogs, including registration number, nickname, kennel name, color, date of birth, breed, gender, size, and competition class.

When you register for an event, an order is created consisting of one or more registrations. The registration includes information about the event, participant, dog, competition, and payment information (the total amount due). We do not store any card or account information, this is managed by the payment providers Vipps and Stripe.

The main purposes for which we use the data are:

3. Where We Store Personal Data and Who We Share It With

The data is stored with our service provider, Google, at their data centers in Europe.

Subcontractors

The data controller also uses services provided by third parties. Here is a list of subcontractors where data may be stored:

  • Vipps: If you pay with Vipps on the website, your phone number is sent to Vipps for further identification. [https://www.vipps.no/vilkar/](https://www.vipps.no/vilkar/)
  • Stripe: If you pay with Stripe on the website, your email is sent to Stripe for further identification. Stripe may use services such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as bank card/credit card payments. [https://stripe.com/en-no/legal](https://stripe.com/en-no/legal)
  • Nets: In relation to a payment, the organizer can only see the date and type of payment used. Neither the organizer nor the participant/booker can view the card details. When an invoice is used, all information from the invoice is available to the organizer.
  • Workspace by Google: Workspace by Google is used for handling emails, documents (G Drive). Information is stored in these systems, and email correspondence or documents may be stored with Google.
  • Facebook Business Suite: Facebook Business Suite is our system for managing chat correspondence. All chat dialogues are stored with
  • Facebook. - Google Analytics: Google Analytics is used for analyzing traffic. IP addresses and browsing patterns are stored.

4. Who We Share Personal Data With

We may share your information with event organizers. We only share information if it is necessary for your participation in competitions. Start lists with your name and the name(s) of your dog(s) are available on our website. If you have registered for an event under the Norwegian Kennel Club (NKK), we will also share information with NKK about your dog's results.

We do not share information with other third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. How Long We Store Personal Data

We store the information only as long as necessary. This typically means that we delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed.

  • User profile: Inactive user profiles (not used within the last year) will be removed after a warning.
  • Dog: Information about your dog is part of the user profile (see the above point).
  • Results: These are stored only with the handler’s name and the name/ID of the dog. This data is stored as long as it serves a purpose for organizers and participants.

Order and payment information is deleted after five years in accordance with the Accounting Act. In any case, we will store information as long as required by law, or where there is a special need, such as in cases of complaints or claims made against us or by us.

6. Your Privacy Rights

You have several privacy rights that you can exercise by contacting us. Your rights include:

  • Information: Additional information about how we process data about you.
  • Access: A copy of the information we have about you.
  • Correction: Correct and supplement information about you.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of information that we no longer have a legal basis to store.
  • Restriction: Request that we limit the use of your data.
  • Data portability: Request that your information be transferred to you or another entity in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Request to object to our use of your data, including use for direct marketing.

Please note that these rights are subject to legal limitations. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, typically within one month.

If you believe that we are processing personal data unlawfully, you have the right to file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet). However, we hope you contact us first so we can address your concerns and resolve any misunderstandings.

7. Cookies

When you visit our website, we use cookies. We do not store any personal data in our cookies. We use Google as our service platform provider, and part of this service enables us to remember your login via cookies. This is optional. 8. Communication via Email and SMS

As a user, you may receive emails and SMS messages related to your customer relationship. For example, we may send you emails/SMS regarding orders you have placed, forgotten passwords, information about your customer account, etc. This is defined as legitimate interest, and no consent will be requested for this.

We also use email for information and communication. As a user of our system, you may periodically receive newsletters, provided that you have given explicit consent. It is possible to unsubscribe from newsletters by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy
